ConductExperience

Ecological momentary assessment

Measure experience as it happens.

Build EMA, experience sampling, and diary studies without writing an app. Participants answer short check-ins on their phones, and you export tidy data for R or Python.

Example day: one random check-in in each of four windows between 8 AM and 8 PM
Example day. One random check-in in each window. Times differ for every participant and every day.
  • 9:12 AM
  • 12:47 PM
  • 3:05 PM
  • 6:36 PM

Build the protocol you designed

Choose when each check-in can happen, and mix schedules in one study. Every random schedule is saved, so you can see exactly when each prompt was planned.

  • Fixed times

The same times each day, such as 8 AM and 8 PM.

  • Random times

A set number of prompts in a window, with a minimum gap between them.

  • One per window

One random prompt in each window you define: morning, midday, afternoon, evening.

  • When it happens

Participants start a check-in themselves after an event, such as a craving, a headache, or a meal.

Easy for participants

Participants use the phone they already carry. Check-ins are designed to be short.

  • Join with a QR code or link

No app store. Participants open a link, agree to the consent, and add the app to their home screen.

  • Reminders on their phone

Push notifications and email, with quiet hours and one follow-up reminder.

  • Works offline

Answers save on the phone and sync when it reconnects.

  • One question per screen

Large buttons and a progress bar, sized for a quick check-in.

Data you can trust

Timing, missed prompts, and protocol changes are part of the research record, so they are kept with every answer.

  • Every check-in keeps its timeline

When it was scheduled, sent, opened, started, and finished, in the participant's time zone.

  • Protocol versions

Change a live study without overwriting what came before. Each answer records the version it used.

  • Exports for analysis

Long and wide CSV files, a reminder log, adherence by participant, and a data dictionary.

  • Pilot first

Test the study with your team. Pilot data stays out of your results.

Planned

More than surveys

Add a speech sample, a cognitive task, a video task, or a sensor reading to the same check-in. ConductSpeech, ConductCognition, ConductVision, and ConductSignal do the measuring, and every result lands on one timeline per participant.

Clear prices

Free for pilots and teaching. The Researcher plan is $399 a year and the Lab plan is $1,199 a year. Questions, check-ins, and responses are unlimited on paid plans.
